Words from the Designer
I’ve made hoodies and hooded jackets out of woven fabrics before, but this is the first oira hooded coat that truly feels right to me. The front placket resembles the collar of a kimono, the artisan-style pocket details, the unconventional pocket placement, and the hand-sewn snap buttons. For me, it strikes a very pleasing balance. Made from soft linen, it conforms to the body; made from stiff linen, it offers structure and dimensionality—it seems like it could be crafted from a variety of fabrics. Limonta linen-polyester blend. The contrast between the linen’s texture and the polyester’s stiffness is intriguing and lends a sense of luxury. White stitching ties it all together in the signature oira style.
