DAISUKE TANABE

While attending Kyoto University, he studied the fundamentals of garment making at a pattern-making school, and after graduation, he joined Hosoo, a long-established Nishijin-ori weaving company.
After working in fabric production, he went independent in 2023 and launched his own brand, “Daisuke Tanabe.”
His collection specializes in leather, denim, and knitwear, featuring products that combine high-quality materials—such as tanned leather from the Italian company Incas and Tuscan mouton—with Kyoto’s traditional dyeing techniques and craftsmanship.
He creates items that blend strong design with the designer’s unique attitude and narrative, reflecting his childhood aspiration to become a film director.
